Information

This workshop will look at the issue of economic recovery in the Eastern Partnership countries from several angles: the green transition, the resilience of local communities and sustainable economic growth. The session builds on the first thematic topic of the EWRC, "Green transition: for a sustainable and green recovery", bringing into focus the Eastern Partnership regions' and cities' efforts to overcome green transition challenges that are common across the region. How can the EU help EaP local and regional administrations in the process of economic recovery? How can we make it green, despite political uncertainties? What are the region's major drawbacks in the field of sustainability and how can cities and regions help improve the situation on the ground? Participants are encouraged to provide examples of successful policies and projects, but also to highlight existing problems and shortcomings, at the local or national level. The speakers will touch upon specific policy areas, such as the circular economy, good governance and green/digital transformation.
