Information
The seminar aims to examine the issues that local and regional authorities face in the process of regenerating their town and city centres. Many of these centres have lost their "focus of activity" and the pandemic has accelerated the shift to e-commerce and the digital economy. There are also issues concerning planning and a lack of investment.
The green and digital transitions, supported by the EU's recovery plan and cohesion policy, provide an opportunity for the regeneration and transformation of city and town centres.
Local and regional policymakers, experts and practitioners will share examples of good practices and discuss innovative proposals that could further develop into an EU policy for regenerating town and city centres.
