Information

After more than a year of pandemic-related restrictions and experimentation with online and hybrid formats, many organisations have developed new skillsets in event organisation. In this workshop, Studio Europa Maastricht would like to discuss with regions, cities and civil society what we can learn from our experiences of (citizen) engagement in the past year. In an interactive setting, we will invite participants to exchange experiences and discuss best practices of hybrid and online events organised to engage citizens in European affairs. What lessons have we learned, and what are the (future) opportunities to seize?

Studio Europa Maastricht (SEM) organises year-round events, bringing people together from all walks of life to discuss European cooperation and politics. In addition, SEM supports interdisciplinary research on European affairs with a cross-faculty research agenda and brings researchers together from different disciplines at Maastricht University. SEM also works on promoting the Maastricht Treaty with the European Heritage Label and runs a programme aimed at presenting the (hi)story of the Treaty to a broad audience.
