How to get the best out of the Renovation Wave - 12WS21403
Information
Buildings are a big energy consumer and CO2 emitter. Renovating the EU building stock is at the heart of a sustainable and green recovery. The Renovation Wave aims to at least double the annual energy renovation rates across the EU. With the main buildings-related legislation (EED and EPBD) up for review and historic amounts of funding being made available for buildings through the MFF and Recovery Fund, how can we ensure that we get the best out of the Renovation Wave?
Policymakers from different levels of governance will look at some of the solutions at hand to improve the implementation of the Renovation Wave: financing instruments to accelerate renovation, technical assistance for practical support, affordability considerations to ensure no one is left behind, and innovative techniques which effectively integrate energy efficiency with climate resilience.
