The COVID-19 pandemic has emphasised the systemic nature of disasters. We must have a coordinated approach to reduce risk. Building the resilience of local, regional and national governments through robust risk governance structures, supported equitably, technically and financially, are critical steps to ensure that disaster impacts are mitigated. This session will enable an exchange on lessons learnt and take stock of measures taken so far in building up the EU's resilience for a better future.
