This workshop will critically examine how regional policy and cluster organisations are collaborating in developing and implementing smart specialisation strategies at regional and European level through two regional case studies and expert opinion.

Smart specialisation strategies are a key element in any European transformation policy and therefore mainstreaming smart specialisation in these policies is the necessary cement for engaging bottom-up dynamics in regional innovation systems for the common European goals.
