In the frame of the UIA funded innovative project “A Place to Be-Come”, citizens from the deprived central district of Seraing (BE) were employed in order to be trained and work to the development and maintenance of urban green spaces following the principles of differentiated management. This pilot program was a success story in various ways : it fostered biodiversity in the City, promoted inclusion and skills acquisitions, but also changed the negative perception of the parks by the public.
