The attack on Ukraine by the Russian Federation in February 2022 resulted in the largest movement of people to European countries since World War II. The refugee response mobilised in Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and other bordering countries is impressive, with regional governments co-managing the huge number of displaced people arriving on their territories. In our workshop, we present first-hand accounts of their efforts and the challenges in managing the arrivals of refugees.
