Clean energy and the sea: what future for Atlantic regions? - 12WS22352

Workshop
Green Transition

Information

Interreg helps regions and cities to tackle common challenges and find shared solutions for a greener society. So, how does the Interreg Atlantic Area promote the use of renewable energies to foster the energy transition in Atlantic regions?

This workshop aims to address the contribution of European funds and the importance of transnational cooperation in the delivery of innovative strategies, solutions, good practices and policies for the use of renewable energies, namely through solutions based on the sea.

The session has two goals: i) to showcase the contribution of two Atlantic projects on this topic, presenting their innovative strategies to deliver solutions to the maritime sector (PORTOS and BLUEGIFT) and ii) to share views on the regional and local policies and strategies in place to use clean energy for a green transition in the Atlantic region.

The importance of the energy transition in most peripheral regions and the use of renewable energies for a green transition, allied to the concrete proposals that will be made and the interesting discussions that will take place, the expert profiles of the speakers and the dynamism that will characterise this workshop, will provide added value to the agenda and the audience of the EU Week of Regions and Cities.
