Green transition in practice: Award ceremony for frontrunning clean energy projects on islands - 11WS22459

Workshop
Green Transition

Information

EU islands are emerging as clean energy frontrunners thanks to their limited scale and experience with issues that are now critical for the EU as a whole, such as fossil fuel dependence and the need to increase green energy production. In this session, the Clean Energy for EU Islands secretariat and NESOI-EU Islands Facility will announce the winners of the #CE4EUIslands Gamechanger Award, which recognises ten projects that are having a substantial impact on EU islands’ clean energy transition.

During the session, the three selected finalist projects will be given the floor to explain and provide inspiration on how islands are tackling issues such as energy independence and decarbonisation of their energy and transport systems. Subsequently, the Grand Jury Award will be announced, as will the Audience Award voted on by the public during the workshop.

MEP Tonino Picula, who has long supported the green transition on islands, will provide a keynote address and participate in the final discussion, together with the project winners and the public.

Be part of the session, get to know best practices and vote for the most inspiring project within the Audience Award.
